As the industry’s brightest talents took to the runway, two designers in particular stood out for their bold, boundary-pushing collections – Carlota Barrera and Kyle Ho.
Carlota Barrera is a name that has been making waves in the menswear world, and her latest collection at London Fashion Week was no exception. Known for her contemporary approach to men’s fashion, Barrera’s designs often reflect her Spanish heritage and explore the fluidity of gender identity.

The 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards were a night to remember, filled with historic victories and heartwarming moments that had the entire entertainment world buzzing. As a devoted fan of daytime television, I couldn’t wait to see which of my favorite shows and stars would take home the coveted golden statuettes.
One of the biggest highlights of the evening was the remarkable achievement of the legendary Dick Van Dyke. At the ripe young age of 98, the iconic actor became the oldest-ever winner of a Daytime Emmy, taking home the award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series for his work on “Days of Our Lives”¹. Can you believe it? This man has been entertaining us for generations, and he just proved that age is nothing but a number when it comes to talent and dedication.
But Dick Van Dyke wasn’t the only one making waves at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards. The hit soap opera “General Hospital” had a truly stellar night, walking away with an impressive four awards, including the coveted Outstanding Daytime Drama Emmy². It’s always so satisfying to see my favorite shows and their talented casts and crews get the recognition they deserve.
And let’s not forget about the other big winners of the evening. “The Young and the Restless” took home the awards for Outstanding Lead Actress (Michelle Stafford) and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Courtney Hope), while “The Bold and the Beautiful” celebrated the win of Thorsten Kaye for Outstanding Lead Actor².
Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Wait, what about the daytime talk shows?” Well, my friends, the talk show category was just as exciting as the drama series. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” continued its winning streak, taking home its fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show². And the dynamic duo of Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa from “Live with Kelly and Mark” were recognized for their outstanding hosting skills, winning the award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show Host².
As someone who loves to keep up with all the latest entertainment news, I have to say that the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards were a true testament to the incredible talent and hard work that goes into creating the shows we love. It’s always so inspiring to see these dedicated professionals being celebrated for their contributions to the industry.
And let’s not forget about the hosts of the event itself – Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner. These two have been making a name for themselves in the world of daytime television, and it was awesome to see them take the stage as the hosts of the Daytime Emmys. They kept the show moving at a brisk pace, while also injecting just the right amount of humor and charm to keep the audience engaged.
Of course, no Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony would be complete without a few surprises and unexpected moments.
