Dior Launches Two New Cafés Led by French Chef Anne-Sophie Pic

The next chapter in Dior’s partnership with French chef Anne-Sophie Pic brings two new locations and a refined menu.

On Wednesday, the second Café Dior by Anne-Sophie Pic will debut in the French fashion house’s flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. Situated on the fourth floor of the House of Dior, it is positioned across from the area showcasing the Dior Maison collections.

Following this, a third café is set to launch on Dec. 22 in Chengdu, China. Located prominently on the ground floor of a newly built, two-story Dior Homme boutique in the upscale Taikoo Li shopping district, across from its current women’s store, the café will feature an exterior terrace with outdoor seating.

“What a joy it is to carry on this adventure with Dior. My exploration of the house’s archives and Christian Dior’s epicureanism has guided my elaboration of an elegant, gourmet culinary proposal around the oval,” Pic said in a statement.

For the occasion, the most Michelin-starred female chef in the world developed a new menu offering savory options as well as a selection of sweets inspired by house codes and the brand founder’s appreciation for gastronomy.

Interspersed throughout are tributes to the culinary legacy of Pic’s grandfather, André Pic, as well as references to Dior’s beloved recipes featured in “Cuisine cousu-main,” a 1972 book illustrated by renowned French artist René Gruau.

Starters are embellished with the maison’s iconic cannage pattern, fashioned like a couture bow or stamped with the leopard motif, a nod to Dior’s muse, Mitzah Bricard.

Elsewhere, the oval shape inspires creations such as “Le Mimosa” and “L’Épi,” a tart featuring veal sweetbreads, chicken, and crayfish, paying homage to the classic French vol-au-vent dish.

Desserts at these two new locations creatively reimagine house symbols, including the Granville rose, the toile de Jouy design, and the signature button motif.

Marking the latest restaurant venture for the French brand, the first Café Dior headlined by Pic opened last year in Osaka’s Kansai International Airport, offering a selection of cakes and pastries.

Dior also has a Monsieur Dior restaurant run by French chef Jean Imbert at its historic flagship on Paris’ Avenue Montaigne and Café Dior venues in the United States and Asia.
