On August 22nd, Lana Del Rey was the headline act for the opening night of the Rock en Seine music festival in Paris. She took the stage to perform hits like “Doin’ Time,” “Summertime Sadness,” and “Ride,” marking her second appearance at the French festival, having first performed there in 2014. “Playing anywhere in Paris is more than just a childhood dream,” Del Rey told Vogue about her new setlist. “There’s something magical about performing in a park outside of Paris. I played over 10 years ago, and it’s always nice to have a full-circle moment like this.”

Performing in the City of Light holds a special significance for the star, particularly because of the fans. “Paris was one of the first major cities we played where we realized how passionate the audience was,” Del Rey shared, also expressing her admiration for the city’s unique architecture. “Many dreams are connected to the idea of Paris, including mine—it’s so much older than America, making everything visually stunning.
