We’re Seriously Obsessed With Serena Williams’s New Miami House
When you’re one of the most decorated athletes of all time, you’ve got to figure out where to put those trophies, right?
Just ask Serena Williams! The multifaceted force of a human recently opened her doors to Architectural Digest for an inside look at her new Miami home, and we’ve got to say, it is outstanding. Not only does she have a massive room for all her trophies, but she hilariously revealed she doesn’t keep second-place hardware. Legend! From the moment you enter Serena’s home, you can immediately feel how much time she spent putting it all together. She swapped a living room for a modern art gallery and has a multifunctional karaoke room that could turn any shower singer like myself into Beyoncé.
“Most homes actually have a formal living room, and I didn’t want to lose that aspect, but I also didn’t want a formal living room, and I was trying to decide what to do,” she says in the video. “I love art and all kinds of artists, so I was like, ‘What if I had a formal living room, but instead of it being a living room it’s an art gallery?'” And that’s exactly what she did. With pieces from Radcliffe Bailey, Kaws, and Brandon Marshall, she has truly built something spectacular.
Serena worked with sister Venus’s interior-design company, V Starr Interiors, to bring her dream to life. With a clear Wurlitzer piano, a mural with an actual rock from the moon, and doors from Nepal, Serena clearly has a knack for interior decorating like her sister. The house is filled with sentimental items from her, Alexis, and Olympia’s life together. Check out some close-up looks at the special details of Serena’s new home ahead, from her art collection to her jaw-dropping trophy room and so much more.
